Where we ship in Europe

Every country below has its own page covering transit times, what you can send, and the customs position for that destination. If yours is not listed, call us — the list is not exhaustive.

What you need to know before you ship to Europe

Paperwork — this one catches people out

All personal effects, excess luggage and student shipping consignments to Europe must travel with a valued packing list and a photocopy of the consignee’s passport. Without both, the shipment can be held at the destination.

Air or sea?

Air freight typically takes around 4 to 10 working days and suits smaller consignments and anything you need soon. Sea freight typically takes around 4 to 10 weeks and becomes the sensible choice once the volume grows. We will tell you honestly which fits your shipment.

Weights and limits

Maximum 30kg per item for personal effects, so it can be handled safely at every stage. Minimum chargeable weight is 25kg on most services and 45kg on some. You are charged on actual or volumetric weight, whichever is greater — volumetric is length × width × height in cm divided by 6000.

Packing

Use double-wall shipping cartons designed for international transport — we can supply them. Label every carton with your surname and the arrival address, tape all seams, and fill any empty space so the box cannot collapse under load. Dismantle and flat-pack furniture: it costs less and it travels better. See our packing guide.

Customs

We handle your UK customs export entry. Import clearance and any duties or taxes at the destination are the responsibility of the importer or consignee. New items are not automatically exempt from duty — see our customs guide.

FAQs

Common questions about shipping to Europe

We ship to destinations right across Europe by air freight and by sea freight. The full list of country pages is on this page — each one covers transit times, what you can send, and the customs position for that destination. What paperwork do I need for a shipment to Europe?+
All personal effects, excess luggage and student shipping consignments must travel with a valued packing list and a photocopy of the consignee’s passport. We handle your UK customs export entry. Import clearance and any duties or taxes at the destination are the responsibility of the importer or consignee.
Should I send it by air or by sea?+
Air freight typically takes around 4 to 10 working days and suits smaller consignments and anything you need soon. Sea freight typically takes around 4 to 10 weeks and becomes the sensible choice once the volume grows. We will tell you honestly which one fits your shipment when we quote.
Is there a weight limit per item?+
For personal effects there is a maximum of 30kg per item, so it can be handled safely at every stage. There is also a minimum chargeable weight: most luggage shipping services are based on a 25kg minimum, and some services operate on a 45kg minimum. We confirm which applies before you book.
